Open Ended Working Group 4 to take place in Nairobi
Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework
The negotiations to develop the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework in preparation for the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP-15) are being undertaken in a comprehensive and participatory process by the dedicated open-ended working group (OEWG).
Digital Sequence Information
Digital Sequence Information (DSI) was officially on the agenda of the third OEWG meeting held in Geneva in March 2022 but the issue has been discussed throughout the preparatory process for the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework, including during a number of informal activities.
4th meeting to be held in Nairobi
At the Geneva meeting, the Parties to the Convention decided to hold a fourth OEWG on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework from 21-26 June 2022 in Nairobi to enable the negotiations on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework and DSI to continue in preparation for COP-15.
Conference of the Parties
The Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework will be presented for consideration at COP-15, which will be held in Kunming, China later this year. The first draft of the framework can be found here and all outcomes and reports from the previous meetings of the OEWG can be found here.
